One week. Two grad credits. Eight local employers. Twenty-four participants.
“How to Help your Students Prepare for Their Future Careers” is a workshop offered to Bismarck-Mandan high school and middle school teachers and counselors. Participants will visit eight of Bismarck-Mandan’s businesses to meet our community’s employers, explore the wide range of occupations and career options available, learn about skill sets needed for in-demand occupations in Bismarck-Mandan, and how middle school and high school classes apply to future occupation choices.
The 2018 workshop is scheduled for June 4-8, 2018 (Mon 1-5 pm; Tues/Wed/Thurs 8am-5 pm; Fri 8am-12pm). Each of the eight half-day sessions will be held at a different Bismarck-Mandan business location. Lunch will be provided Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Program registration will be limited to a maximum of 24 participants. Registrations will be accepted through May 4, 2018, unless the maximum registration of 24 is reached prior to that date. Those who attend all sessions will be eligible for two grad credits. There is no registration fee for participants; the Bismarck-Mandan Development Association (BMDA) will cover the cost of the program.
