The region is served by two Class-1 railroads in Burlington Norther Santa Fe and Canadian Pacific Rail as well as numerous daily flights to locations like Minneapolis-St. Paul, Denver, Chicago O’Hare, and Dallas-Fort Worth making Bismarck-Mandan a natural logistical hub.
The region is home to a large manufacturing facility Bobcat-Doosan and many small manufacturers that provide parts to larger OEMs like Bobcat-Doosan and other large North Dakota facilities like Titan Machinery and John Deere Electronic Solutions.
